Caravelle pioneered Barcelona's brunch scene with roots in Melbourne and London, and it remains, by neighbourhood consensus, unconcerned with whatever the rest of the city is chasing. Everything from brioche burger buns to hot sauces is handmade. Brunch options include Moroccan-style baked eggs, corn fritters with poached eggs, and coconut French toast. Caravelle also runs its own brewery — if craft beer is your thing, try anything off the tap. No reservations, so come early; it gets packed fast, especially on weekends. The Raval location adds grit and character — this isn't a polished hotel brunch, it's the room that taught Barcelona what Australian brunch culture looked like, and it still feels like the original. The coffee is genuinely good. The crowd is cool without trying. After all these years, Caravelle still sets the standard.
