Bar Brutal in El Born is the Colombo brothers' natural-wine bar — the epicentre of Barcelona's natural-wine movement, recognised by 50 Best Discovery. The space is covered floor-to-ceiling with bottles from their adjacent wine shop, and the selection runs to hundreds of references: biodynamic, natural, orange, skin-contact, and everything in between. The food is Italian-influenced and designed to accompany the wine — hand-sliced jamón, high-quality conservas, charcuterie, cheeses and simple plates that don't compete with what's in your glass. There's no tasting menu; you order à la carte, and your spend depends entirely on how deep you go into the list. The Born space is industrial, loud and packed most nights. For anyone serious about natural wine in Barcelona, Brutal is non-negotiable.
