Denassus on Carrer de Blai in Poble Sec comes with a pedigree that matters: two Bar del Pla alumni running their own kitchen, which is all the introduction the neighbourhood needed. The cooking is seasonal, playful without being gimmicky — small plates that lean on Mediterranean produce treated with intelligence, a few sharper turns toward natural-wine-bar territory when the mood takes over. The real star is the wine list: curated with the obsessive seriousness of people who have spent years pouring other people's selections and clearly enjoyed the moment they got to build their own. Natural and low-intervention producers dominate, many poured nowhere else in the city, and the staff pour with the kind of engaged commentary that makes exploring worthwhile. Prices run comfortably in €€€ territory, which is fair for the sourcing. The Blai location keeps the room lively without tipping into the pintxo-crawl tourist circuit a few streets away. A Poble Sec essential for wine-first dining.
