Awards: Bib Gourmand 2026

Venetian taberna steps from La Boqueria. Bib Gourmand. Sardine in saor, fegato alla veneziana, tiramisù. Seafood-heavy, rooted in Italian tradition, reasonable prices. Two-floor bistro with eclectic décor and a tiny kitchen — the food is what matters.

The Delekta Review

Bacaro earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand for what it does best: honest Venetian cooking at honest prices, steps from the Boqueria market in what feels like a Venetian taberna transplanted to Barcelona. Chef Marco Filipponi changes the menu daily based on what's fresh at the market. There's no tasting menu; it's à la carte only, with an average spend around 35€. The sardines in saor with raisins and caramelised onions are a signature. The Venetian-style veal liver, risotto al nero di seppia, and daily homemade pasta — spaghetti with mussels, clams, and tomatoes; gnocchi with wild boar ragù and pecorino — show real Italian cooking rooted in flavour, not presentation. The tiramisù finishes things properly. The space is bistro-style across two floors, eclectic but simple, with a tiny kitchen that shouldn't be able to produce food this good. A Bib Gourmand that delivers exactly what it promises.
