Albert Raurich's (ex-El Bulli) Asian-Spanish fusion tasting menus. Japanese, Chinese, and Southeast Asian influences. Sake bar next door for à la carte. A Barcelona original.

The Delekta Review

Albert Raurich was chef de cuisine at El Bulli from 1999 to 2007. When he left, he didn't open a Spanish restaurant — he opened an Asian one, and it has been confounding and delighting Barcelona ever since. Dos Palillos earned Two Soles in the 2026 Guía Repsol, the only restaurant in Catalonia with that distinction. The concept is catalano-Asian: wagyu and caviar coexist with traditional oden and narezushi. Fresh yuba draped over Iberian ham with sea-urchin broth. Shabu-shabu of baby octopus tempered in dashi made at the moment. Squid shiokara with fermented viscera, glazed with its own ink. Raurich works behind his U-shaped counter in El Raval — the omakase-style format puts you close enough to watch every plate come together. His wife Tamae Imachi, a Japanese sommelière, runs the beverage programme. The sake bar at the entrance offers a more casual option. Prices are significant for what is technically a tapas bar, but the technical range — Japanese precision, Spanish product, El Bulli invention — is something no other restaurant in Barcelona can replicate.
