Cèntric is a sliver of a bar on Carrer de la Cera in El Raval, minutes from La Rambla — and in a neighbourhood increasingly surrounded by tourist traps, its stubborn authenticity feels like a small act of resistance. The Gordal olives arrive enormous and buttery. The Andalusian fried calamari is properly crisp. The spinach beignets drizzled with honey are the dish that keeps the regulars coming back. Vermut on tap at local prices. The queue on the pavement at aperitivo hour is the surest sign you're in the right place. Tiny room, tiny kitchen, enormous character — the Raval at its most honest, served without ceremony.
