Avenir is what happens when two friends who met at their children's school — Roger Viñas in the kitchen, Chesco Salrach in the dining room — decide to open a restaurant together in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi. The Bib Gourmand recognises what is happening here: exceptional quality at reasonable prices. The cooking moves confidently between sea and mountain. Ravioli stuffed with squid, mackerel cured with burnt garlic coconut ajoblanco, and an eel bonbon with garlic and parsley show a kitchen with genuine range. Sea bass with mashed cauliflower, grapes, and mint demonstrates how Viñas builds flavour — unexpected combinations that feel inevitable once you taste them. Three menu options including La Barra Pescetariana at 77.50 euros. The taberna-style room is charming without trying too hard. A Bib Gourmand that punches well above its price point — the kind of restaurant you tell your trusted friends about and hope they keep it to themselves.
