Daniel Roca — the veteran behind Masala73 — runs a kitchen that refuses to shout. Barra Alta is deceptively simple: select ingredients, thoughtful preparation, zero pretension. The capipota with cod is the anchor — confit cod cheeks swimming in a deeply savoury sofrito, the marine and bovine gelatins melding into something genuinely compelling. Pork, veal, and seasonal plates rotate around it, each dish calibrated to hit slightly above what you'd expect at this price point. The Sarrià neighbourhood crowd treats it like a local, which tells you everything. Michelin noticed. So did Repsol. But the real test is the Tuesday lunch regulars who keep coming back without any guide telling them to.
