The Delekta Review
The bodega that ran at Pintor Fortuny × Xuclà in the Raval from the 1970s under Àlex Segarra and Isabel Pressegué closed for the pandemic in November 2020. Briefly hosted Sergi de Meià's Banquet from 2023 through the summer of 2024, and then sat empty until **Lito Baldovinos and Enric Rebordosa**'s **Grup Confitería** took it on. The same group that runs La Confitería, Paradiso, Bar Muy Buenas, El Maravillas, Mundial Bar, La Font del Gat — Barcelona's most credible heritage-bar revival operator — reopened the room in November 2025 as Sagarra, with **Pichiglas Studio** preserving the aluminium-and-ceramic bar and the seventies tones intact. The cooking is Catalan tapas and classics: xistorra del Sagarra with yolk, oversized buñuelo de bacalao with aioli, sea bass with meat suquet, roasted cannelloni, kokotxa mollete al pil pil, txuleta de vaca vieja for the larger format. Average ticket lands around €20–€30; most plates sit under €15. Crónica Global and Metrópoli Abierta filed within weeks; Hule y Mantel, Ara and Directo al Paladar all came out. No named head chef in the coverage yet — the kitchen reads as a Grup Confitería operation.
What works
Grup Confitería has built Barcelona's most credible heritage-bar revival catalogue over the last decade — La Confitería, Bar Muy Buenas, El Maravillas, Mundial Bar, La Font del Gat — and Sagarra is the latest entry in that line: a working seventies bodega at Pintor Fortuny × Xuclà brought back from pandemic closure with the original aluminium-and-ceramic bar intact and a coherent Catalan tapas-and-classics carte on top. House xistorra with yolk, oversized buñuelo de bacalao, sea bass over meat suquet, txuleta de vaca vieja. Average ticket in the twenties; most plates under fifteen. Crónica Global, Metrópoli Abierta, Hule y Mantel, Ara and Directo al Paladar all came out within weeks of the November 2025 opening.
Before you go
Very new — six months on the clock at writing; Time Out, Repsol, Macarfi and the heavier critics haven't filed yet, so the editorial picture will sharpen over the next six to twelve months. No named head chef in coverage so far — the kitchen is described as a Grup Confitería operation, which is credible but anonymous. The original 1970s family was Segarra (with an 'e'); the revival is spelled Sagarra — a deliberate phonetic rebrand by the new operators, worth knowing if you're looking for legacy continuity. Corner location off La Rambla can pull tourist traffic at peak hours, especially weekends.
