The Delekta Review

Nomo Sarrià is one of Barcelona's most polished Japanese kitchens, tucked into a restored 19th-century building on the main street of Sarrià village. Chef Naoyuki Haginoya bridges Japanese technique and Mediterranean product with unusual precision: nigiri cut from Palamós red prawn, tataki of Mediterranean red mullet, makis that use local seafood without losing Japanese discipline. The omakase is where the kitchen lets go — a procession of small dishes that reward surrender. The tempura is featherweight, the cooked courses carry genuine invention, and the seasonal specials are a reason to return rather than repeat. A Civil War tunnel in the basement adds architectural intrigue to an already handsome restored space. Sarrià gives it a village calm rare in the city — leaving lunch here feels like re-entering Barcelona rather than simply stepping outside. Prices reflect both the quality and the postcode; the execution justifies both.
