The Delekta Review
Mog in the Eixample is one of the only Goan kitchens in Barcelona, and the distinction matters: this is not the generic North Indian curry-house template that dominates the city. The chef cooks from the Portuguese-Indian tradition of Goa — vindaloo with proper vinegar bite and chilli depth, xacuti with its toasted-coconut and dried-chilli masala, fish curry with kokum, sorpotel. Seasonal Catalan ingredients get rerouted through Goan technique rather than the other way around, which keeps the cooking authentically rooted. The room is intimate, the service personal, prices are moderate. For anyone who's eaten Indian food in Barcelona and concluded they've seen it all, Mog is the correction — specific, regional, and cooked with clear conviction.
