Batea
Seafood · Eixample, Barcelona · €€€
Awards: Michelin Selection · 50Best Discovery
Barcelona's premier Atlantic seafood destination, executed with obsessive sourcing and remarkable restraint. Live Galician percebes, sea urchins, and oysters arrive daily from northern ports.
The Delekta Review
Batea is widely considered one of Barcelona's strongest seafood propositions — a modernized marisquería that sources obsessively from both the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts. The short, seasonally rotating menu avoids the stiff formality of traditional seafood houses: expect live Galician percebes, oysters, razor clams, sea urchins, and a Betanzos-style tortilla alongside more playful preparations. Not everyone agrees. The Eixample location near Passeig de Gràcia means city-center prices — this isn't a neighborhood seafood bar, and a table for two with wine climbs fast. But the product is the point, and on the product alone Batea has earned its reputation.
