Casa Masala is the 2022 rebrand of Masala 73, itself born from a 1973 British double-decker food truck that Jordi Arós and Kuldeep Singh launched in 2017. Now at Muntaner 152, the Singh family runs the kitchen — chef Gurmeet, cook Deepak, assistant Balijinder — turning hand-ground family spice mixes into a focused tapas-format curry bar.

Jordi Arós and Kuldeep Singh started in 2017 with a converted 1973 British double-decker bus food truck serving Singh's family curries. Moved into a Muntaner 152 storefront as Masala 73; rebranded as Casa Masala in November 2022 with a redesigned curry-bar layout. Kitchen runs Singh-family — chef Gurmeet Singh, cook Deepak Singh, assistant Balijinder Singh; Gurjeet Kaur leads sala alongside Catalan server Xavi.
Curry bar with tapas-format sharing: short menu of curries, tandoor dishes, naan made-to-order at the open bar. Tandoor oven hits 400°C — the wall onto which naan adheres and where Iberian pork pluma gets its charred crust. Hand-ground spice mixes from Kuldeep Singh's family; Catalan-Indian crossovers throughout the menu.
Bombas Bombay — potato, chickpea and pea bolitas with brava sauce and curry mayo, a Barceloneta tribute. Pollo tikka masala — chicken marinated 24h in spiced yogurt, tandoor-roasted, served in a soft tomato-almond curry. Cordero ecológico de Cal Tomàs as Sheekh Kebab — fresh-ground spice mix, spicy yogurt on the side. Pluma de bellota with tandoori spices, charred fat crust, served over biryani. Rasmalai flan — cream-cheese-and-paneer custard topped with pistachios, almonds, rose petals and lime zest.
Open bar format with the tandoor oven in clear view — naan goes onto the wall at 400°C in front of the room.
