Awards: Repsol Guide · Slow Food Barcelona 2026 · Time Out Best Restaurant of the Year
Carlota Claver's neighbourhood Catalan kitchen on Aribau — winner of TV3's Joc de Cartes and Time Out's Best Restaurant of the Year, with Repsol recognition.
The Delekta Review
Chef Carlota Claver, Hofmann-trained and tempered at Alba Granados, runs a deceptively ambitious kitchen from a three-floor corner spot where Aribau meets Corsega. The menu is deliberate and compact: gyoza with slow-stewed meat, cod cheeks with pil-pil and calçots, chickpeas with fresh lobster. Each dish balances tradition with restrained contemporary flair — genuine risk-taking, but nothing gratuitous. The weekly lunch menu at around 20 euros is a neighbourhood steal. What separates La Gormanda is Claver's insistence on market-sourced ingredients and small local suppliers, a philosophy that earned a Repsol Guide mention, Time Out's Best Restaurant of the Year, and a TV3 Joc de Cartes victory. Her husband Ignasi runs the floor with warmth.
