Gresca is chef Rafa Peña's flagship — the restaurant that established Barcelona's bistronomic movement when it opened in 2006 and has only deepened since. Peña won the Premi Nacional de Gastronomia in 2023, Spain's highest culinary honour, for a career spent proving that creative ambition and accessible warmth are not contradictions. The tasting menu changes constantly, driven by market and season, with technique that reflects Peña's training in France and his roots in Catalan produce. Two Repsol soles recognize the sustained excellence. The dining room is intimate and unfussy — the focus is entirely on what arrives on the plate. Next door, Gresca Bar operates as the wine-bar sibling with its own Michelin star and one of Barcelona's best natural wine lists. Together they represent one of the city's most important culinary projects.
