Gloria Osteria Barcelona

Italian · Eixample, Barcelona · €€

Big Mamma group's first Barcelona restaurant: 1,000 sqm of Italian maximalism with Murano chandeliers, 170 artisan Italian producers, and a menu that swings between polished and theatrical.

The Delekta Review

Gloria is Big Mamma doing what Big Mamma does — spectacle-first Italian dining at democratic prices, now landed on Enric Granados with all the subtlety of a Murano chandelier. The space seats 230 across two floors of Belle Epoque-meets-Italian-golden-age decor, and yes, it is loud. The carbonara arrives in a cheese wheel, the tiramisu comes in pistachio and marsala variations, and ingredients are sourced from 170 Italian artisan producers. The pastas are well-cooked and the desserts genuinely excellent. But the experience is uneven: some appetizers underwhelm, the truffle feels performative, and the international crowd gives the room a theme-park energy that divides opinion. At 25-35 euros average, though, the value is hard to argue with. Gloria is trying to be an event, not your neighborhood trattoria — and at that, it mostly succeeds.
