El Maravillas earns its place as the standout tapas bar in Les Corts through ensaladilla rusa and anchovies done with care, canelones that hold up as a serious dish, and an oysters-and-cava pairing that works as well here as anywhere in the city. Escalivada with burrata and fried eggs with potatoes and sobrasada or jamón de bellota show a kitchen with range. The wine list has a dedicated sommelier — you're handed something considered, not a laminated page of house pours. The room is small; book ahead. The window seat overlooking the plaça is the spot you'll sit at too long. Cocktails round out the offering — the Confitería group lineage that includes Paradiso shows — but the food is what brings you back. The kitchen runs past midnight every day of the week, until 02:30 on weekends.
