Contracorrent Bistró in Gràcia runs a tasting menu of eight to ten courses for €35–48 — a price point that is genuinely absurd given what arrives on the plate. The chef-sommelier duo expanded here from their original Fort Pienc location, and the Gràcia room has the same intimate, laid-back character with a strong natural wine list attached. The cooking shows innovative flavor combinations handled without pretension; dishes change frequently, which means the menu rewards curiosity and return visits. The wine pairing is worth taking. The intimate space seats very few, so reservations are essential — the word has been out for long enough that walk-ins are effectively impossible. One of the more quietly impressive kitchens in the neighborhood, and one of the clearest value propositions at the ambition level it aims for.
