The Colombo brothers — the force behind Bar Brutal and Xemei, two pillars of Barcelona's natural-wine scene — opened Bar Super in March 2025 directly across from Mercat de Santa Caterina. Stefano Colombo has described the philosophy plainly: make the dishes we want to make, not the ones you find on every restaurant menu. The result is cuina de mercat with Italian DNA — carciofi alla carbonara, melanzane in carrozza — sourced from the market across the street. The wine list is the natural extension of Bar Brutal's legendary cellar, but deliberately broader: after years of radicalism, Colombo says, they've relaxed, including producer friends who didn't fit Brutal's strict natural criteria. The space is sleek, with red accents and natural light. Counter seating, window seats, a few tables at the back. Don't skip the millefeuille with tonka bean. Book ahead — the Colombo name fills rooms fast.
