Bar del Pla

Catalan Tapas & Wine · El Born, Barcelona · €€

Cozy tapas bar near the Picasso Museum. Cult-following patatas bravas, slow-roasted pig trotter, and a deep natural wine list. Where Rosalía reportedly eats — now near-impossible to book.

The Delekta Review

Bar del Pla occupies a narrow slot on Carrer de Montcada, a few doors down from the Picasso Museum, where chef-driven tapas meet a natural-wine programme serious enough to justify the cult status. The slow-roasted pig trotter is the signature — burnished, sticky, boned out tableside — and the patatas bravas have a following of their own. Tuna tartare, anchovy toasts, and seasonal croquettes round out a short menu that rotates often enough to feel alive. The wine list leans Catalan and biodynamic, poured by staff who know their producers. The room is small, loud, and permanently full: bookings have become notoriously difficult since the place entered Barcelona's gossip orbit as Rosalía's reported haunt. Prices remain moderate for the Born, and the cooking consistently punches above its tapas-bar pay grade. Arrive hungry, drink what the sommelier recommends, and accept that you'll be elbow-to-elbow.
