Beneath the beautiful 19th-century arches of Porxos de Fontseré. A new destination in El Born for creative Mediterranean cooking in a stunning architectural setting.
The Delekta Review
Under the 19th-century arcades of Porxos de Fontseré in El Born, Volta has one of the most cinematic dining rooms in the city — brick vaulting, honeyed light, and an architectural drama that would carry a lesser kitchen on its own. The Mediterranean menu doesn't need the lift. Seafood is the strength: sourced fresh from the nearby market, treated with modern technique and enough restraint to let the product talk. Plates like the carpaccio, grilled fish, and the rice dishes sit comfortably between tradition and reinvention. Service is attentive without fuss, the wine list leans Catalan with smart international detours, and the Born address adds neighbourhood texture to the architectural setting. A rare Barcelona restaurant where the space and the food are equally worth the trip.
