Vinitus

Traditional Tapas Bar · Eixample, Barcelona · €€

High-volume traditional tapas bar near Passeig de Gràcia where quality holds up despite the crowds. Patatas bravas, grilled prawns, and bomba croquettes; no reservations, but the queue moves fast.

The Delekta Review

Vinitus on Consell de Cent pulls off the trick most high-volume tapas bars can't: feeding hundreds of people a day without the food visibly suffering. The queue can stretch down the block but moves fast — no reservations, no pretension, a modern central bar and communal seating that keeps the room in perpetual motion. The bacallà amb mel (cod with honey) is the must-order, a sweet-salty combination of textures that every reviewer ends up singling out. Beyond that, the croquetes, bravas, seafood skewers and Iberian ham run the Barcelona greatest-hits playlist with more care than the setting suggests. Churros amb xocolata and crema catalana close things properly. Average 29–35€ a head. The scale alone — daily covers stacked into the hundreds — normally signals tourist-trap, but Vinitus sustains its quality in a way that humbles the assumption. Some compare it unfavourably to Cervecería Catalana down the road — that's less a fair critique than a statement about how high this category's bar runs.
