Tangana is what happens when the man who made Bar Cañete famous decides, at fifty-nine, to do the whole thing again — but this time for himself. Josep Maria Masó spent years building Cañete's reputation in El Raval; now, with the much younger Alex López Lamiel at his side, he's brought the same philosophy to Gràcia: market ingredients, open kitchen, zero pretension, technique that doesn't announce itself. The fricandó croquettes are the calling card — traditional Catalan beef stew reimagined as a croqueta, which sounds like a gimmick until you eat one. The tempura oysters and the steak tartare submerged in winter consommé show a kitchen that's thinking beyond the obvious. The room is small, the bar is always full, the neon rooster on the wall sets the tone. Opened in 2023 and fully booked within months. Reservations essential.
