Awards: Michelin Selection

Chef David Rustarazo's market-inspired cooking with seasonal game dishes. Cozy Eixample space. World of Mouth says possibly 'the best game dishes in Barcelona.'

The Delekta Review

Nairod — "Dorian" read backwards — is chef David Rustarazo's small, chef-driven dining room in the Eixample, recognised with Michelin selection and quietly considered by some to have the best game cookery in Barcelona. The tasting format lets Rustarazo read the market each morning: venison and wild boar in autumn, woodcock in season, wild mushrooms with the authority of someone who has clearly spent time in the forest as well as the kitchen. The wine list leans natural and low-intervention, with small Catalan and French producers pouring by the glass alongside more classical bottles. The room is intimate — a dozen or so covers — which turns dinner into something closer to a private event than a restaurant meal. Prices are moderate for the level of cooking; the backwards name might be the least contrarian thing about the place. For anyone seeking game handled with respect rather than bravado, this is the Eixample address.
