The Delekta Review
Enigma is the Adrià brothers' immersive multi-course dining experience in Barceloneta — a restaurant designed as a journey through multiple dramatically staged spaces. Guests move between rooms as the courses progress, which makes Enigma closer to theatrical performance than to conventional dining. It's been described, rightly, as not a dinner but an event. The cooking is spectacular, the design extraordinary, and the format demanding: the meal runs for hours, the space changes, each course is a scene. Some find it fascinating, others exhausting. Reservations are extremely difficult to come by and prices are very high. This is not casual dining — it's for people who want to be challenged by their food in an environment that demands full attention. Whether that appeals or overwhelms depends entirely on you.
