The Delekta Review

Slow & Low is Nico de la Vega and Frank Beltri's Michelin-starred tasting-menu restaurant in Eixample Esquerre — the same duo behind the one-starred Bar Canyí in Sant Antoni. The name is misleading: this is not a barbecue joint. It is a serious, multicultural fine dining restaurant built around what the chefs call "cocina viajera" — travelling cuisine that draws on Mexican, Asian, and Mediterranean traditions and fuses them into something distinctly its own. The menus run 13 courses (€140) or 15 courses (€170), with wine pairings from a sommelier who knows the list cold. The cooking is seafood-forward, with bold acidity, controlled spice, and layered flavour that keeps the progression moving without fatigue. Macarfi calls it "una gran joya."3. The industrial-chic room in Sant Antoni has an open kitchen and two chef bars — sitting at the bar is the move. Service is young, sharp, and attentive. The Repsol Gold Sun and Michelin star are earned. At €170 for 15 courses with this level of ambition and technique, it represents strong value in the upper tier of Barcelona dining.
