Salamanca

Galician Seafood · Barceloneta, Barcelona · €€€

Galician seafood institution since 1969, founded by Silvestre Sánchez on the Pepe Rubianes corner in Barceloneta. Mariscada imperial, vieira gallega gratinada, parrillada Olímpica, plus a daily set menu.

The Delekta Review

Salamanca has been on this Barceloneta corner since 1969, and the kitchen carries that history without coasting on it. The mariscada imperial — bogavante, langostinos, cigalas, almejas — arrives with the unshowy authority of a dish made thousands of times. The vieira gallega gratinada con parmesano y jamón is the signature that keeps regulars coming back, the parrillada Olímpica anchors the brasa side, and the pulpo a la gallega rounds out a menu that leans firmly into Galician seafood. The daily set menu is the democratising force — generous portions, Tupperware requests routine. The terrace is tightly packed, waiters move at pace, and the hustle is real. High-energy Barceloneta lunch, not leisurely seaside drift. Come for the shellfish, accept the bustle.
