The Delekta Review

RíasKRU is the post-pandemic merger of two Barcelona seafood landmarks: Rías de Galicia, which spent thirty-plus years serving Galician shellfish to the city's establishment, and Espai KRU, the Iglesias brothers' avant-garde raw bar. The result is a dual-concept menu — one side classic Galician (percebes from Roncudo, grilled wild turbot, kokotxas al pil pil), the other Japanese-inflected (nigiri, tiradito, tuna carpaccio with avocado and horseradish). Chef Rafa Erbs, trained at Azurmendi and Enigma, bridges both worlds with technical confidence. A 3,500-litre live seafood tank greets you at the entrance. The wine cellar holds 800-plus references and 20,000 bottles. Two renovated floors, private dining, valet parking — this is serious seafood for serious occasions. Not cheap, but the goose barnacles alone justify the price if you understand what you're eating.
