Awards: World's 50 Best Bars 2025

Paradiso is a theatrical cocktail bar accessed through a fridge door hidden inside a pastrami bar in Barcelona's Born neighbourhood — one of the world's most celebrated speakeasies, where the bartenders perform as much as they pour.

The Delekta Review

Enter through the fridge, past the pastrami sandwiches and grilled cheese in the front bar, and you land in a room that earns every superlative thrown at it — undulating Gaudí-esque ceiling, long marble bar, bartenders wielding smoke and dry ice like stage props. The Great Gatsby arrives under a bell jar, a truffled Old Fashioned wreathed in smoke; the Atlantide combines gin, marine cordial, tomato water, and a white chocolate gold coin — both drinks are precise, layered, and worth the theatre. The spectacle is real, but so is the substance beneath it. What you should know going in: this is Barcelona's worst-kept secret, and the crowd skews heavily tourist. A QR-code waiting system has replaced the old street queue, which helps — but come early or accept the wait. The bartenders perform with genuine skill rather than mere flash, and that's the difference between a gimmick and a bar worth returning to.
