Kresala
Basque Seafood Grill · Port Olímpic, Barcelona · €€€€
First Basque fish asador in Barcelona. Grupo Sagardi + Gregorio Tolosa (Bidea2). Whole fish on the parrilla from Cantábrico and Mediterranean. Bogavante, langosta. Sopa de pescado magnífica.
The Delekta Review
Kresala brings proper Basque fire-cooking to the Port Olímpic — whole fish, txuleta and lobster taken to the parrilla by Gregorio Tolosa, the same hand behind Bidea2, under the Sagardi group umbrella. The sopa de pescado is genuinely magnificent; the rodaballo and merluza come off the grill with the char the Cantábrico tradition demands. The setting is the Port Olímpic — big windows, sea air, tourist proximity — but the cooking rises above the location. Prices land in the upper tier, as Basque seafood at this level does anywhere. Not a cheap dinner, but worth the expense for anyone who has eaten along the north coast and wants that same smoke and salt in Barcelona.
