Fabrica Moritz

Brewpub & Mediterranean · Sant Antoni, Barcelona · €€

Barcelona's flagship craft brewery in a stunning Jean Nouvel-renovated space. House-brewed beers, Mediterranean cuisine. Industrial-chic showpiece.

The Delekta Review

Barcelona's flagship Moritz brewery occupies a restored 19th-century factory on Ronda de Sant Antoni — Jean Nouvel's renovation alone justifies the visit. Vaulted ceilings, exposed original brewery machinery, and contemporary steel-and-glass interventions coexist in a cathedral-sized space that feels like part brewery, part design gallery, part beer hall. The kitchen sends out Mediterranean sharing plates designed for lager pairing — patatas bravas, coques, embotits, grilled octopus — competent rather than transcendent. The house beers, especially the unfiltered Epidor, are the reason to come, along with the architecture. The volume is enormous, and at peak hours the experience suffers: tables turn fast, service flags, and the bread-and-butter tapas show their limits. Come for the building and the beer, stay for a second round; don't arrive expecting a quiet dinner.
