Arnau Muñío (born Cerdanyola del Vallès, 1982) opened Direkte inside La Boqueria in 2018, in a stall that had belonged to Carles Abellan and that Muñío bought during the pandemic May 2025 move to Carrer de París 200 (Eixample) — same team, double the seating, sommelier Ricard Amorós on the floor; co-chef Shu Zhang continues from the original venue K in the name is Muñío's personal rebellion — a punk-music nod, originally from the bank loan paperwork that wrote 'Direkte' for the project
