Awards: Repsol Solete

Open since 1908

Can Ros has anchored the same Barceloneta corner since 1908, when the Cid family opened it as a small neighbourhood tavern. Now in its fifth generation — with chef Jordi Kevin Ballester running the kitchen — it holds a Repsol Solete and its original identity.

The Delekta Review

Mediterranean with Catalan maritime roots — rices, paellas, fideuà, plus a daily set lunch Daily fresh fish from the market; reservations especially important on weekends

Arroz de capipota with langoustines, slow-cooked with ñora pepper Seafood fideuà with black chanterelles Seafood paella; arroz negro Santa Pau white beans with bacon Fried calamari, anchovies, patatas bravas at the bar

Founded 1908 as a small neighborhood tavern by the Cid family; now in its fifth generation Originally named 'Can Roig' (red in Catalan) for redheaded family members; renamed 'Can Ros' during Franco's regime Cross-reference: Marta Cid of La Mar Salada is from this family — her grandparents own the tavern Chef Jordi Kevin Ballester runs the kitchen today

Family-run tavern with rustic wooden tables, a bar, and a small terrace Crowd skews local; the room favours regulars over the tourist beachfront flow
