Perched on the hillside below Tibidabo at Plaça del Doctor Andreu, Mirablau has been selling one of the most panoramic views of Barcelona for more than twenty-five years. The glass-enclosed rooftop terrace is the whole proposition: the city spread out in full by day, an electric grid of light at night. The Mediterranean menu is competent rather than essential — honest plates, decent wines, serviceable cocktails — and the honest read is that the setting is what you're paying for, and the setting is genuinely worth the cheque. Go at sunset, reserve the terrace in advance, order a drink and something simple to share, and let Barcelona do the work. A classic view restaurant used for exactly what view restaurants are meant to do.
