If you can't get a table at Disfrutar — and you probably can't — Compartir Barcelona is where the same trio of chefs (Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch, Mateu Casañas) offer their cooking in a more accessible format. The three elBulli alumni opened this sharing-plates concept as the democratized sibling: deliberately less avant-garde, more informal, and significantly more affordable than their Michelin-starred flagship. The signature Panchino — a bun filled with caviar and sour cream — has become the emblem. At roughly €69 per person, multiple reviewers consider it strong value for cooking of this pedigree. Not every critic is dazzled — the experience doesn't always live up to the famous name, and a handful of reviewers have come away feeling underwhelmed. But when the kitchen is on, Compartir is one of the few places in Barcelona where you can taste elBulli-trained technique without the Disfrutar-level wait. Worth the effort.
