Casa Delfín sits on the Passeig del Born with one of the best terraces in the neighbourhood — wide, shaded, and perfectly positioned for the pre-dinner stroll that the Passeig was built for. Inside, the cooking is rustic Catalan market cuisine: canelons made in-house the traditional way, arròs a la cassola, grilled fish from the Boqueria, escalivada. The family runs the dining room with the warmth that can't be faked, and the wine list leans properly Catalan with a strong showing of Penedès cava and Empordà whites. Prices are moderate for the Born — slightly above average, justified by the quality and the setting. The terrace is the draw, but the kitchen holds up its end. A Born classic that has earned its following across decades without trying to reinvent itself.
