Galician seafood in Horta-Guinardó — pulpo á feira, percebes, empanada, and the sort of Atlantic product that Galicians will actually sit down and eat, which is the real test. The pulpo comes out properly cooked with paprika and olive oil as the tradition demands, and the seafood arrives fresh enough that it doesn't need ornament. The room has the convivial, communal energy of a Galician taberna, the clientele is authentically local, and the prices are noticeably more accessible than the same quality would cost in the Eixample or El Born. For Galician cooking without the centre-city mark-up, this is a strong Horta address that has built its reputation the old way — plate by plate, year after year.
