Awards: Guía Repsol

Tuscan family trattoria in Gràcia run by the Raffaelli sisters. Handmade pasta every morning, six-hour ragù, and a tiramisu that Italians cross the city for. Repsol Solete.

The Delekta Review

Raffaelli is the kind of Italian restaurant that makes other Italian restaurants in Barcelona feel like they're trying too hard. Run by Greta and Gioia Raffaelli — daughters of Sandro, a Lucchese restaurateur who brought his family's recipes to Gràcia — the operation is small, intimate, and stubbornly authentic. The pasta is made by hand every morning. The Tuscan ragù simmers for six hours. The tordelli lucchesi, a meat-filled pasta from Lucca that you will not find anywhere else in the city, is the dish to order. Eighty percent of the clientele is Italian, which tells you everything about the calibre. The dining rooms feel like someone's living room — antique furniture, the father's paintings on the walls, wine from a forty-label Tuscan-focused enoteca priced without greed. Repsol Solete. The tiramisu has a legitimate claim to best in Barcelona.
