The Delekta Review

Nobu Barcelona delivers the brand's Japanese-Peruvian playbook from a height that gives it an outsized sense of occasion. The black cod with miso is the dish to order — miso-marinated, deeply flavoured, the one plate that earns its reputation across every outpost of this empire. The sushi bar adds a performance element; watching the prep is half the draw. The broader Nobu evidence makes clear that execution runs uneven across the brand — rock shrimp tempura lands well when the batter is light, but sushi rarely punches above decent. In Barcelona, the 23rd-floor setting does heavy lifting: sunset views are genuinely spectacular, the cocktail and sake lists are taken seriously, and the €80 omakase is the most efficient way through the menu. The room amplifies the food — which is fine if you arrive knowing that. Prices are steep.
