The Delekta Review

An emblematic Sants bodega operating on Carrer d'Andalusia since 1880 — originally a mule stable, then a wine shop, now a full bodega-restaurant protected by the Ajuntament de Barcelona for its historical and cultural weight. The Cantabrian anchovy pintxos have earned their reputation honestly, dressed with the house vinegar sauce; the vermut is excellent, drawn from the barrel with the proper ceremony. Since the Salvat Vidal family's return, the menu has widened to cover xistorra, croquetes, truita and bunyols de bacallà. Some recent reviews flag dips in consistency, but the century-plus of continuous history and the genuine bodega character are hard to find anywhere else at this price. Worth the trip to Sants for the room alone.
