A seven-seat counter restaurant in a covered Eixample passageway where Toshi Suzuki cooks alone — threading Japanese precision through Catalan market produce.
The Delekta Review
Fixed counter restaurant, no à la carte. Menú Batlló: 4 courses + 2 desserts at €37, weekday lunches only. Menú Somodó: 6 courses + 2 desserts at €57, dinners and weekends. Advance reservation required. Toshi Suzuki's cooking routes Japanese precision through Catalan market produce — seasonal, restrained, and anchored to the calendar. The lineage is Shojiro (1979, Gràcia), one of Barcelona's first Japanese restaurants; the current format and address date to 2023.
Smoked mackerel with calçots and calçot broth; scallops with edamame purée, ham crumble and mushroom sauce; duck confit parcels with kohlrabi and eggplant; bluefin tuna belly with citrus; miso-glazed sea bass; squid in its ink; apple, wasabi and lemon frappé as pre-dessert.
A covered passageway — Passatge de Batlló — in Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample, easy to miss from the street. Seven counter stools, Toshi Suzuki visible throughout in an open kitchen. Minimalist and quiet, with no decorative ambition: the room recedes entirely so the food can advance.
